Your Hate For Me
We often forget that sometimes things we say can give a false impression of who we are as a person.
I have been called every name in the book, endured death threats, hate mail, and other dubious acts by those who think ill of me and my opinion.
I have learned many lessons over the years including that the older you get, the more entrenched you become politically. In fact, entrenched so much so that one can become forever locked into the mentality of us vs them. You are either with me, or you are against me.
I have seen this mind set ruin friendship, erode family bonds, and decimate relationships. I have come to expect this from people in general and while it pains me to see it happen, I can't change it. People are who they are and they will always do what aligns best to their meme's.
The second thing I have learned is that those tolerant liberals who look down upon those who do not subscribe to their political views, are in fact, the most intolerant folks on the face of the planet. And one need look no further for proof of this than the reaction to the outcome of the election.
How many of you have been defriended, called names, insulted, or other because you stood up and said no more to the status quo of politics as usual in this last election cycle? Thus far I have seen six people I have known, including relatives, spurn me, call me hideous names, and label me such things as a racist, sexist, white privilege enabler, conspiracy nut, and much more because I dared to support someone other than Hillary Clinton.
Well to those folks, I am sorry that your intolerance of my freedom has caused you so much discomfort. I mean that sincerely and not facetiously. I understand that it is hard for some to accept that they cannot control the will of others. That sometimes, people do what they think is right even if you think it is wrong. What I take umbrage too is that without regard, baseless assumptions about me were made without any consideration to me. You could have simply asked me why I chose Trump over Clinton, but instead, opted to just make blind assumptions without regard or compassion.
That you just assume that you are right and that I therefore, must be a racist, sexist, women-hating, crazed conspiracy nut, food hoarding, barefooted, buck-toothed, dirt floor dwelling, redneck, inbred, jack-booted, Nazi flag waving, sister fucker, your words, not mine, just proves that you don't know me at all. And that is truly a sad thing to behold and why I feel so bad for you. Because if that is who you are, then I needant be bothered to worry about what you think of me.
When you make assumptions about a person based solely on your political views, you are skewing your own prism into reality, and are therefore blinded by it. And to be blind is to live in a place so absent of vision as to utterly be devoid of all but nothingness. And that says far more about who you are than who you think I am.
To those who have taken offense to this, or anything I have ever said, and you know who you are, please stop and take a moment to reflect on what you don't know and use the pause to consider that perhaps you should know better. Thank's for reading, God bless, and Merry Christmas.
